Inspired by Amrita’s Voice note Art collection which explores the saying’a word is worth a thousand pictures’. Amrita captured the word Dubai and then through mixed media techniques and collage captures the spirit and energy of the city. Dubai’s nick name is “The City of Gold” and its trading history is linked to be the centre for the gold trade, between sources in Africa and consumers in the rising economies of China and India. The city has areas literally lined with gold shops. Dubai is a vibrant city- full of joys from the beach to the desert, entertainment to business.
